Magento Community - Getting Rid of Downloadable Products from the customer log in pages

Magento Community - Getting Rid of Downloadable Products from the customer log in pages

The best way to get rid of Frontend links is to use and extension. I'm not normally one for using extensions but I tried this one (which is free!!) and it seemed to do the trick, also has nice little other pieces such as the home button, beats doing url rewrites.

Anyway. Log in on your magento account and look for http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/frontend-links-manager.html  download this remembering to back up just in case. Then go into your admin panel there will be a section on the left hand side reading MAGEPSYCHO EXTENSIONS
if you look under this there is a title that reads Frontend Links Manager, (if you click this and it comes up with 404 errors, don't panic, just log in and out and try again, all should then be fine. Anyway in this you will see the option just go through and see what you want enabled or disabled then save config.

Magento - How to put text under the .More-View images

Magento - How to put text under the .More-View images

  1. Locate the file which is media.phtml - folder structure. app/design/frontend/default/(your-theme)/template/catalog/product/view/media.phtml
  2. Open the file, then look for <div class="more-views"> it should be near the bottom of the page. Mine looks like

<div class="more-views">
    <?php /*?><h2><?php echo $this->__('More Views') ?></h2><?php */?>
    <ul id="more">
    <?php foreach ($this->getGalleryImages() as $_image): ?>

<li><a href="<?php echo $this->helper('catalog/image')->init($this->getProduct(), 'image', $_image->getFile()); ?>"  rel="image_gallery" title="<?php echo $_product->getName();?>"><img src="<?php echo $this->helper('catalog/image')->init($this->getProduct(), 'thumbnail', $_image->getFile())->resize(70, 70); ?>" width="70" alt=""/></a>

        </li>

    <?php endforeach; ?>
    </ul>
</div>

That is in version 1.7.0.2

All you need to do now is add this in :
 <!-- begin image text -->

            <br />
            <span>
                <?php echo $this->htmlEscape($_image->getLabel()) ?>
            </span>

            <!-- end image text -->

So overall it look like. (This is correct for 1.7.0.2) You should be able to just copy out yours and put in this bit. Make sure you always backup just in case.

<div class="more-views">
    <?php /*?><h2><?php echo $this->__('More Views') ?></h2><?php */?>
    <ul id="more">
    <?php foreach ($this->getGalleryImages() as $_image): ?>

<li><a href="<?php echo $this->helper('catalog/image')->init($this->getProduct(), 'image', $_image->getFile()); ?>"  rel="image_gallery" title="<?php echo $_product->getName();?>"><img src="<?php echo $this->helper('catalog/image')->init($this->getProduct(), 'thumbnail', $_image->getFile())->resize(70, 70); ?>" width="70" alt=""/></a>

            <!-- begin image text -->

            <br />
            <span>
                <?php echo $this->htmlEscape($_image->getLabel()) ?>
            </span>

            <!-- end image text -->

        </li>

    <?php endforeach; ?>
    </ul>
</div>

Magento Community - Number of products per row

Number of products per row

To change the number of products per row, you need to go to list.phtml
folder structure: /app/design/frontend/default/jewelry-store/template/catalog/product/list.phtml
And change line 96   <?php $_columnCount = 3 //$this->getColumnCount(); ?>

Change the number to amount per row you want. You might have to change widths in the CSS which would be under product-boxes.

Review

So I went to see Star Trek: Into Darkness, last thursday, so sorry for the time taken to get this review up here. The film is about fighting the demons with in.... The film is very gripping in the way that it makes you question who the real evil is and who you are really fighting. All is not as seems so you sit there excited through trying to work out the story, with is kinda of like the original film wrath of khan, but with a twist. The film I actually think is better than the first film. With its unbelievable graphics and sounds making you feel part of the crew during the situations that arise. Truly brilliant.

I'll give this film a 9.5/10 great film to watch if your into anything Sci-fi.
